china dolls' happy day

i am about to melt into a puddle of negative energy due to being unused to a weekend stuffed to the gills with friends and activities plus a job that drains the dickens out of me (hyperbole and exhaustion go hand in my life).  more to come on all of the above.  


but, i could not rest of weary head upon my deliciously feathery pillow (oh it sinks so good) without proclaiming the beauty of this day for myself, my family, and anyone who has been blessed to know a one Christina Grace Dehan (aka christina from chinadollscandycornspaintedwoodentoys--amy grant Christmas song reference for the unknowers out there).

today is the day that marks the anniversary of first time motherhood for my beautiful momma and first time breathing in the joy of living for a beautiful soul infinitely Loved, desired and cherished by our merciful Creator.  

today is my big sister’s birthday.  she is the best big sister in the world.  no contest.  God knew what He was doing (funny how that happens) when He made Christina the eldest of my siblings.  she has been for me what big sisters are truly meant to be.  she showed me what courage and faithfulness to Christ is in the face suffering, rejection, and pain.  she showed me this since i was a little one and she was also a little one.  plus she dances like a boss.  

she is a true treasure and gift to this world and to the souls in in that encounter her. 

i love you, Christina.  i am so thankful God created you and had you breathe your first breaths on this lovely feast of St. Nicholas.  i pray you are bathed in Love, Joy, and Light from Heaven now and forever.
