It is officially the best month of the year, and I am aware of it from the top of my head to the tips of my toes. It is strange how long and short a year can feel all at once. I measure my years from May, since it is my birth month, so happy new year!
I love it so. I love that my birthday is a pearly bead on the necklace of this month dedicated to the Blessed Mother.
I love that it sometimes dances along the shores of Summer, but still lingers in the grassy meadows of Spring.

I love that it means anyone in school who was ever like me is getting the first whiffs of hope wafting from the summer banquet they will soon feast upon.
I was born in the right month, to say the least, and the Easter season still stretches before me almost to the very end of this happy 31 days, and promises hope and glorious mysteries still untold. Because we have a Mysterious and Glorious Savior.
I am very much enamored with this unchartered off shoot of west street I Providentially pulled over to picturfy this afternoon. What I met was an unreasonably delicious variety of pink things for my eyes to feast upon. They feasted. And they went back for seconds, and thirds, and fourths. And let's be honest, fifths, sixths, and sevenths. It has led me to the conclusion that the official color for this month is pink.
Having the color of the month settled, all that was left was May's official bird. Don't worry, offshoot street has it more than covered.
Flamingos it is! I would like to offer my sincerest thanks to the person who decorated their yard with this flamingo. I am obsessed.
Thus ends my first installment in the hit series “Elisa Gushes over May”, and there will be more, my peeps. There will be many more. And they will be painted with Lisa Frank colors. If you don’t know who Lisa Frank is, just know that her rainbow hued unicorns, puppies, kittens, and any other possibly cute and fluffy animals, covered the side of the white book shelf in my cotton candy pink room many moons ago. I also had folders, pencils, and anything else Lisa Franky I could get my hands on. I had a thing for lala land back then, too. And Flamingos are soooo Lisa Frankish.
And now it’s time for the April photo of the month to make its’ debut. The problemo is, there were so many great moments in April (the greatest being the Easter Vigil Mass), that I can’t pick just one. And since it’s still the Easter season, I am going to throw a little picture party in honor of Easter and give you not one or two, but 5, photos of the Month. Take a deep breath, I know I might just have blown your mind. As Princess Peachy mariokart version would say: Here we go!!!!!
1: parents+Texas+the salt lick= the best. |
2: Easter Love |
3: Shower of petals for Easter |
4: Diner fun with Poppa |
Last but certainly not least: Madeline Cecilia |
as this is now my 3rd attempt to post a comment, i think i pretty much have it memorized.
ReplyDeletepart 1. flamingos are so lisa frankish. as someone who begged and pleaded for everything L.F. (from my pens and pencils, right down to my trapper keeper), i should know. (while i'm at it, can i please give a shout out to sanrio surprises - what what?)
part b. your amazing photots of your jaunt down west street leave me yearning for another walk through Easter wonderland with you by my side. despite your stellar skills as a budding photographer, i'm sure these pictures scarcely do these darling buds justice.
part 3. totally jazzed i made a cameo in one of the photos of the month. (granted, with five opportunities, i suppose the odds were in my favor.) nevertheless, i'll take it and i'm honored!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MONTH, BOO!!!!!
